Dear Member Thank you for joining Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) recently and welcome to the organisation. The aim of NHW is to help neighbours join together as a group to form resilient communities to reduce the fear of crime and make people feel safer. however, I note that there is no NHW group in your road at the moment. As an individual, you will receive updates about criminal incidents that have happened and general warnings but will not experience the full strength of NHW that members of a group have by being able to help each other, compare notes about suspicious vehicles or cold callers and, in so doing, help to prevent crimes in your local neighbourhood. Could you form such a group? This is really a simple process. After collecting neighbours' email details and making an email list, you can simply forward messages to your group. This will inform everyone in your road. By getting to know your neighbours and working together you can become a strong force in combatting crime. It really does not take very much time. There is support and practical help available, just get back in touch with me. I am the Chairman of the West Glos NHW Area Association and am happy to help. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope to hear your reaction to the contents of this email. Regards Jill |
